Reuben's journey in the painting and decorating industry began long before he started working full-time for his father, Clayton Ellis, at the age of 17. From a young age, Reuben was immersed in the trade, accompanying his father to job sites, meeting clients and tradespeople, and often spending school holidays working on the tools. Conversations around the dinner table were always centered around the painting industry, and this early exposure sparked Reuben’s passion for the craft. By 20, his dedication and strong work ethic saw him rise to the role of site foreman, where over the years he managed a wide variety of demanding projects, including some of the company’s largest commercial jobs. Reuben quickly developed a specialisation in intricate architectural work and always focused on delivering the highest quality finishes for his clients. His commitment to excellence has earned his work multiple gold awards in the Master Painter of the Year awards, a prestigious accolade that places his work alongside the best painters and decorators in New Zealand. With over 10 years of experience and as a fully qualified painter, Reuben decided to establish his own painting & decorating business, bringing the same level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and customer focus that has defined his career. His goal is to continue delivering exceptional quality and creating a lasting legacy in the industry.
